Supporting your business through changing times - Darlington Business Week
When: Thursday 7th October 2021
Where: Online event

During this event, BHP Law in conjunction with Darlington Business Week, will discuss the following topics:

1. The return to work from Covid-19

The 19 July 2021 represented the long-awaited “Freedom Day” whereby all Covid-19 restrictions were lifted. However, employers are likely going to face ongoing issues such as:

• Requests for flexible / hybrid working

• The data protection issues surrounding asking staff about vaccinations

• The issues surrounding long-covid.

2. An overview of redundancy

With the furlough scheme winding down with the view to ending at the beginning of October 2021, many employers will be faced with difficult decisions regarding their workforce. Where employers have closed their place of work or still have a reduced amount of work, one of the options will be to consider redundancy. The team will look at:

• How to identify a redundancy situation

• An overview of the process to conduct redundancies

• How to calculate a redundancy payment.
