First registration

If your property is unregistered we would strongly recommend that you take action to register it with HM Land Registry.

We usually estimate that a transaction will take three months as the time scale is dependent on the speed of HM Land Registry. However, like in all things, some matters may be speedier and some longer, it is all dependent on the nature of the transaction.

When carrying out your First Registration the main stages are:

  • Collect all deeds and documents relevant to the property from you
  • Collate all the necessary deeds and documents to show a clear route of title
  • Complete a First Registration application form
  • Submit the form and relevant deeds and documents to HM Land Registry
  • Review the returned completed register of title
  • Report to you with the completed registration
