AN EXPANDING North-East law firm has appointed three new solicitors as it continues to invest in its full range of services across the region.

Janet Ford, Rachel Alder, and Tracy Farman bring a wealth of experience to BHP Law, which has offices in Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Teesside and Tynemouth.

Janet, who is joining the Residential Conveyancing team, is a former pupil at Hurworth Comprehensive School, and is well known in legal circles in Darlington and surrounding areas.

After studying for her professional qualifications at The College of Law, in York, she started her career in 1997 and worked for several North-East law firms, as well as in local government, before launching her own business in 2013.

Rachel Alder is a former pupil at Billingham Campus School, and studied at the University of Teesside, and The College of Law, in York.

She started her career in the legal sector in 2009 and joins BHP Law’s Personal Disputes Resolution team after spending the past 11 years as an Associate Solicitor, specialising in civil litigation cases for another North-East law firm.

Tracy Farman has become part of BHP Law’s Personal Injury and Medical Negligence department, in Durham, after working for a solicitors practice in York for the past 18 years.

Since qualifying in 1989, Tracy has specialised in claimant personal injury, amassing considerable experience in dealing with employers’ liability accident and disease claims. These include asbestos related injuries, hand arm vibration syndrome, and noise-induced hearing loss.

She grew up in Stockton, attending Ian Ramsay School, and now lives in the Durham area.

BHP Law Managing Partner John Pratt said: “Janet, Rachel and Tracy bring a huge amount of experience and expertise in their specialist fields, and we are delighted that they have joined our growing team.”

BHP Law is one of the region’s longest-established legal firms, with roots dating back to the early 1800s. The company offers a full range of legal services, with 11 specialist teams: Commercial and Agricultural Property; Commercial Litigation and Business Disputes; Corporate and Commercial Law; Court of Protection; Employment Law; Family Law; Notary Public Services; Personal Injury and Medical Negligence; Residential Conveyancing; Personal Disputes Resolution; and Wills, Trusts and Probate.
