How long does a transaction take?

We usually estimate that a transaction will take six to eight weeks however, like in all things, some matters may be quicker and some longer, it is all dependant on the nature of the transaction. 

When carrying out your re-mortgage/mortgage the main stages are: 

  • Check the register of title is correct and provide you with the relevant completed documentation
  • Receive offer of mortgage
  • Order searches (if required)
  • Review offer of mortgage and any search results
  • Prepare Mortgage Report
  • Discuss any queries you may have and execute documentation
  • Discuss completion dates
  • Request redemption statement of any existing mortgage and request mortgage monies on any new mortgage
  • Complete your remortgage/mortgage
  • Redeem any existing mortgage/charge
  • Register your new mortgage over the property with HM Land Registry
