We are currently recruiting for the following positions

 

Full Time -  Solicitor - Family & Crime Team - Darlington Office 

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Solicitor/Associate, 5-7 PQE.  Good advocacy skills are essential.  The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive and professional legal service to clients, ensuring that every client of the firm experiences the highest levels of customer service in all of their dealings with BHP Law. In order to meet and exceed our clients expectations, duties will include; provision of up to date expert legal advice, taking instructions, dealing proactively, efficiently and pleasantly with clients, time recording, billing, archiving and business development activities. The ability to cover care proceedings is desirable.

The successful candidate will also be fully competent user of Microsoft Word and Outlook and an intermediate user of Excel.  You will also have excellent organisational skills, show great initiative and be able to work to deadlines. Ideally you will have the ability to work a case management system. However this is not essential as full training will be given.

Full Time - Secretary - Court of Protection Team

We are currently seeking to appoint to the following position at our  Durham office with travel to our Darlington office initially. This is a permanent position. 

The successful candidate will provide a client focused and professional administrative support within the Court of Protection team. Duties will include; audio typing, completing Legal Aid applications, scanning in documents, orderly maintenance of files, dealing proactively, effectively and pleasantly with clients and professionals, diary management, preparing court bundles, reading records and general administration.  

As the successful candidate you will have significant experience of providing secretarial support within a busy team. Audio typing skills are desirable. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is essential. The successful candidate will also be a fully competent user of Microsoft office and preferably have relevant secretarial qualifications.  Court of Protection experience is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.

You will also have excellent organisational skills, be able to work to deadlines and ideally either have experience of or be comfortable working for a fee earner who is out of the office on occasions and therefore the ability to use your own initiative is essential. Ideally you will have the ability to utilise a case management system however full training will be given.
