Accidents at Work

Start you Presonal Injury Claim Now

Employers have a responsibility to protect their employees from accidents and illnesses; in the same respect Employees have a responsibility to maintain their own duty of care in maintaining health and safety procedure, and therefore follow their own training.

Our personal injury solicitors team here at BHP employ specialists who are extremely experienced in dealing with substantial work accident compensation claims in virtually every type of workplace.

Can I claim for an accident in the workplace?

Despite the contractual agreement made between employers and employees, accidents so still occur. Some of those will be just that, an accident.

However, an employee is able to claim if the accident could have been prevented from occurring by the employer or colleagues exercising more care and complying with the relevant health and safety regulations and company training.

Many people have accidents at work in a range of circumstances and environments. If an injury is sustained it tends to be very minor, such as a scratch or bruise, however in some cases injuries can be very serious, life changing or, in the worst cases, fatal.

If you have been hurt at work due to an employer failing to exercise its duty of care for employee's health and safety; or if you have been hurt at work by a colleague failing to comply with their training, you should be able to succeed in a claim for compensation against an employer.

Who can make an accident at work claim?

All employees are able to make a claim.

Don't forget even if you are not an actual "Employee" of the company at fault, for instance you may be a labour only subcontractor for them, you can still claim against them. For these purposes you will usually be treated the same as an employee.

We can also help if your accident occurred abroad if the company you are/were working for had a Head Quarters/Office in England or Wales.

What our clients say

I have taken time to write these words about BHP Law. My case of an injury at work was taken over in May 2014, as things had not progressed with my previous solicitor. Since BHP Law became involved things have progressed at a good rate.

Earlier this year, Ruth Markham, has taken charge of my case. I found Ruth to be very pro-active and she gets things done whatever the problems may be. Ruth gives me some much needed confidence with my case and I have to say I find her very professional in her duties and  to bring my case to a successful conclusion. I have no hesitation in recommending BHP Law (Ruth). If you want progress and confidence that things are happening, go to BHP Law.
