Leanne made the change from the procurement sector to law, having completed her part-time Open University law degree with upper second-class honours in December 2012. Leanne is now a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with Higher Advocacy Rights in Family Law.

Leanne’s first legal role was with TBI in Hartlepool in 2013 where she worked within the Family and Housing (rent and mortgage arrears) departments. Having commenced her training with Teesside Law in Middlesbrough in 2015, Leanne joined BHP Law in March 2018 as a Trainee Legal Executive and completed her legal qualification.

Leanne has experience of a broad range of Family Law matters and provides representation at court. Leanne offers advice and assistance in children and domestic abuse matters. For children matters this includes Care Proceedings, Child Protection, Letter Before Proceedings/Public Law Outline (PLO), Child Arrangements Orders and other private law children matters including adoption. In cases of domestic abuse, Leanne can assist with warning letters and obtaining a Non-Molestation Order.

Qualifications: LLB (Hons) 2:1 and CILEx Higher Advocacy Rights in Family Law.

Charitable/pro bono work: Previously volunteered as a Generalist Advisor with Citizens Advice Bureau
