The Northern Echo Health and Care Awards honours those in the care sector who have gone above and beyond to help others, particularly during what has been a challenging 12 months. The event took place on Thursday 25^th March and winners were announced in 14 categories which included Young Adult and Child Care Award, Midwife of the Year, The Dementia Carer of the Year Award, The Palliative Carer of the Year Award, The Mental Health Award, GP Practice of the Year Award and Outstanding Achievement.

BHP Law were proud to sponsor the Dementia Carer of the Year Award which recognises individuals who work to improve the lives of those living with dementia. The award was won by Caryn Walmsley who is a senior carer in Houghton le Spring.

BHP Law’s nominated charity is the Alzheimer’s Society and we continue to take part in related initiatives and events to raise awareness of Dementia and create a more Dementia Friendly community.
